Standalone Branched chain amino acids basically in my opinion are a complete waste of money and time BCAAs contain three amino acids which are valine leucine isoleucine leucine is the Trigger to muscle synthesis but can only be utilized if in conjunction with the nine other essential amino acids. Buying a branched chain amino acid stand-alone supplement as a complete waste of money. You will require all nine essential amino acids to utilize the three branched chain amino acids. All you will need is a high quality whey protein isolate which generally includes all nine essential amino acids including the branched chain amino acids. There is an argument that you can use BCAAs when in a state of fasting which I also disagree with because what will happen is you will become catabolic in order to provide the essential amino acids that are required to utilize the branched chain amino acids. So what that means in a nutshell is your body will use your muscle as a form of acquiring the essential amino acids to utilize the three branched chain amino acids from the BCAAs and it can result in muscle loss during a state of fasting. I can't emphasize this more your focus should be on supplementing high-quality Protein Isolate at least a few times per day the calculation unofficially is one gram of protein per one pound of body weight this will be more than adequate amount of essential amino acids including your branched chain amino acid and will satisfy your need to create muscle synthesis.
