So I get this question alot. Here is how i did it.
1 recognize your body type and diet accordingly.
2 incorporate HIIT training asap.
3 have a decent abdominal excersice regimen. ( 20 minutes is plenty)
4 be patient
You need to remember that there is no such thing as "spot reduction" unless your going to have a medical procedure like liposuction. With that in mind your next best strategy is diet. This is where the 80/20 rule is applied. 80 percent of your 6 pack will be from diet and 20 percent will be from excercise.
HIIT this is important because it is scientifically proven to burn fat and not muscle. You can achieve HIIT training by doing literally anything. Some good excersices are:
1 skipping
2 jumping Jack's
3 running on the spot
The way that you turn these example excersices into a HIIT style training is by simply :
1 start at a regular pace keeping time. Ie: 1 minute steady pace.
2 increase to full velocity ( as hard as you can go keeping time ie 20 seconds)
3 drop back down to regular pace for a minute
4 repeat the cycle until exhausted
Abdominals circuit
1. 100 crunches
2 100 in and outs
3 100 Russian twists
For about 20 minutes that's all you need. To sum it up if you are serious about getting results than have a look at your diet. Pay attention to what your eating how much your eating and when your eating it. It is important to recognize your body type first so that you know how to strategize your diet correctly.
